Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. Willis Lewis McKenzie, age 55, of Joe McKenzie Road, Bartow, Ga who died Wednesday morning October 20, 2021, in the Jefferson Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday afternoon October 24, 2021, in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Louisville with Rev. David Boggs officiating. The McKenzie family will receive friends Immediately following the service.
A native and lifelong resident of Bartow, Willis was the son of the late Billy Ray McKenzie and Madelyn Davis McKenzie. He was the owner and operator of McKenzie’s Garage in Bartow. Racing was his passion. He started racing at the age of 9 and continued to do so until passing. He was a GSKA tech official who traveled and an elite engine builder for the karting world. He won many championships throughout his racing career and to many he will be remembered as a racing legend. His other passion was his family and friends, many of whom he also called customers.
Mr. McKenzie was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Janie McKenzie, his daughters Caitlin Williams (Josh) of Swainsboro, Ga., Kimberly McKenzie (Dylan) of Louisville, Ga., granddaughters Holli Schoen of Swainsboro, Ga., Audriana Williams of Swainsboro, Ga. and Alyna Cook of Louisville, Ga., grandson Zander Cook of Louisville and brother Joe McKenzie (Margaret) of Bartow, Ga.
Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
