Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Tommy Dukes, age 57 of Wadley who died Monday January 25, 2021 in the Jefferson Hospital.
Graveside services for family only will be held 11:00 AM Saturday January 30, 2021 in the Bethesda Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Elder Steve Flowers and Elder Emerson Proctor officiating. Pallbearers will be: Will Ross, Caden Sauls, Jay Sasser, Frankie Lampp, Randy Scott, Keith Ross, Charles Rachels, and Herbie Brett. Because of the family’s concern for public health and safety during this pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. A native of Wadley Tommy was the son of the late Theron “Jack” Dukes and Bessy Ruth Rachels Dukes. He was a member of the first graduating class of Thomas Jefferson Academy in 1982 and a self-employed delivery driver. Mr. Dukes was a long-time member of the Bethesda Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and an active member of the Jefferson County Gideons. He was a veteran truck driver with 29 years of over the road transportation.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his wife Lori Hendrix Dukes of Wadley, daughters, Emily (Tim) Jackson of Davisboro, Gracie Dukes of Wadley, mother, Bessie Ruth Rachels Dukes of Wadley, sister, Betty Ann (David) Lurie, of Wadley, four grandchildren, Jack Jackson, Luke Jackson, Beau Jackson, and Ayda Jackson, nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be an open visitation 11:00 AM till 5:00 PM Friday January 29, at the funeral home.
