Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Ruth Lamb Godbee, age 91, of Louisville who died Tuesday afternoon December 1, 2020 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 3:00PM Saturday, December 5, 2020, in the Chapel at Taylor Funeral Home with Mr. Joe Cheeks officiating. Burial will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Otis, Matt Otis, Todd Story, Tony Otis, Frank Williford, and Allan Sasser. Service can be viewed on the Taylor Funeral Home website at www.taylorfhlouisville.com

Because of the family’s concern for public health and safety during this pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is encouraged.

A native of Louisville, Ruth was a daughter of the late Eli Allen Lamb & Estelle Moats Lamb. She retired from Thermo King after more than 30 years of service and was a longtime member of Louisville United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Godbee was preceded in death by her parents, husband G.W. Godbee, brother, Allen Lamb, and is survived by brother, William L. Lamb of Winter Park, Fl, sister, Polly Williford (Frank) of Louisville, nieces and nephews, Jill Smith, Gwen Price, Tony Otis, Pat Miller, Karon Price, Larry Lamb, Waldo Lamb, Dennis Lamb, Terry Lamb, and several great nieces & nephews.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, those desiring please make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 106 SRP Dr, Evans, GA 30809.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
