Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death Mrs. Madge M. New, age 102, of Bartow who died Monday afternoon June 12, 2023, at her home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday June 16, 2023, in the Louisville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathon Melchior officiating. Burial will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery with Matt McNeely, Will McNeely, Andy McNeely, Jr., Samuel McNeely, Ben Miller, and Jamie Wheeler serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Philathea Sunday School Class of Louisville First Baptist Church.
Mrs. New was born in Jefferson County Georgia July 15, 1920, the daughter of the late Nathaniel McDaniel and Annie Lee Allen McDaniel. She was a longtime faithful member of Louisville First Baptist Church. She retired from Thermo King corporation after more than 20 years of service. She loved to garden and grow flowers, but most of all she loved her family beyond measure and always put their needs before her own. She exemplified the definition of a Godly mother to her daughter Suzette, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved her cats, Ethel, and Ozzie, like her children.
Mrs. New was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hodges New, and is survived by her daughter, Suzette McNeely of Bartow, grandsons, Adam (Beth) McNeely of Bartow, and Kane McNeely of Gurley, AL., Great-grandsons, Matt McNeely and Will McNeely of Bartow, Great-Granddaughter, Neeki McNeely of Gurley, Al., her special niece Patricia Poole, her half-brother, John McDaniel and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her nurse practitioner with Ga House Calls, Tracy and her nurse with Regency Southern Hospice, Nikki, for the wonderful care they gave. She always looked forward to their visits.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday June 15, at the funeral home.
