Mrs. New was born in Jefferson County Georgia July 15, 1920, the daughter of the late Nathaniel McDaniel and Annie Lee Allen McDaniel. She exemplified the definition of a Godly mother to her daughter Suzette, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved her cats, Ethel, and Ozzie, like her children.
Mrs. New was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hodges New, and is survived by her daughter, Suzette McNeely of Bartow, grandsons, Adam (Beth) McNeely of Bartow, and Kane McNeely of Gurley, AL., Great-grandsons, Matt McNeely and Will McNeely of Bartow, Great-Granddaughter, Neeki McNeely of Gurley, Al., her special niece Patricia Poole, her half-brother, John McDaniel and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her nurse practitioner with Ga House Calls, Tracy and her nurse with Regency Southern Hospice, Nikki, for the wonderful care they gave. She always looked forward to their visits.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday June 15, at the funeral home.
