Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death of Mr. Lewis Wells died Wednesday, June 16, 2021, in Gibson Health and Rehab.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Saturday, June 19, 2021, in the Mitchell Full Gospel Church with Rev. Jacky Downs and Rev. Kyle Downs officiating. Burial will follow in the Euphrates Baptist Church Cemetery in Edgehill. Pallbearers will be Jason Usry, Russ Usry, Rev. Sam Griswell, Reid Rhodes, Thomas Poole, Don Hilson. Lewis was a native and lifelong residence of Gibson. He was a son of the late Willie B. Wells & Adel Sammons Wells. He was a 1963 graduate of Glascock County Consolidated School and retired from Thomson Company after 20 years of service. He had worked for Raley’s restaurant for many years and Sheppard Funeral Home for 15 years. Lewis was a long-time member of Mitchell Full Gospel Church.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James Wells, John Willie Wells, George Wells, sisters, Katie Overstreet, Mary Kitchens, and Florrie Arrington, stepsister, Doris Marsh, and survived by a sister Rendia Kent of Gibson, several nieces and nephews, and his extended family at Mitchell Full Gospel Church.
The Wells family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Friday, June 18, 2021, at the funeral home.
