Tim Pendrey officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Michael Williams, Sr., Matthew Williams, Michael Williams, Jr., Joshua Williams, Charles Sloan, and Richard Franklin.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Williams was one of 12 children born to Emmitt Roy Williams and Annie Laura Lamb. Laura was a 1958 honor graduate of Louisville Academy and studied at Emanuel County Junior College, Piedmont College and graduated with honors from North Georgia College in 1984.  There she studied early childhood education and minored in music.  She achieved great honors, including induction into Gamma Beta Phi Society and Teacher of the Year in 1991.  She taught by example and teaching; music and teaching piano was her key to opening many hearts to the joys of life on this earth.  Her passing was not of sadness and pain, but peace and purpose.  Her many students often paid tribute to her, calling her one of the greatest teachers that made all the difference in their lives. Mrs. Williams was a former teacher at Warrenton-Freeman Elementary and a full-time church pianist at Little Briar Creek Baptist Church and St. Johns Methodist Church in Wadley.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 38 years, Harvey F. “Hank” Williams.  She is immediately survived by sons Rod Williams (Anne) of Louisville and Kenneth Williams (Amy) of Martinez and grandson Ryan Williams, sister Ruby Johnson, and brother Raymond Williams (Susan), and 23 nieces and nephews.
