Jonathan Kitchens Obituary

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. Jonathan Charlie Kitchens, age 24, of Louisville, who, without warning, ascended into the arms of Jesus, Saturday night, January 28, 2023, in the Jefferson Hospital, Louisville.

Services to celebrate his life will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the Louisville Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Cain, Rev. Jonathan Melchior, and  Rev. Edward Salter officiating.  Preceding the service will be a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM, and internment will immediately follow the service in the Hall Family Cemetery, Bartow, where he will be laid to rest beside his dearly loved Pop Pop, Charlie Roy Hall.  As a tribute to Jonathan, anyone desiring is welcome to wear a cap to the service.

A lifelong resident of Louisville, Jonathan attended Louisville Baptist Church and was the beloved son of Johnny and Kimberly Hall Kitchens, older brother to a sister, Caroline, and dog dad to his precious Ju Ju.  He was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by his maternal grandparents, Charlie Roy and Linda Cobb Hall of Bartow.  Left behind to cherish his memory are his paternal grandparents, John and Laura Kitchens of Matthews; uncles and aunts, Keith and Jeanne Hall of Bartow, Robert and Angela Samples of Matthews, and Sean and Julie Hayes of Stapleton; cousins, Stevin Hall of Dublin, Thomas Hall of Bartow, Susanna (Josh) Jenkins of Bonaire, Ashley (Cameron) Connell of Evans, Kristen Samples of Matthews, Laura Faith and Ethan Hayes of Stapleton, Abigail Rodriquez of Matthews, and Walter Connell of Evans. Also, loved like family, are Marlon and Lisa Anderson of Bartow and Meredith Johnson of Louisville.

Jonathan was a 2017 honor graduate of Thomas Jefferson Academy and moved on to graduate from East Georgia College in Swainsboro.  In May of 2021, he graduated from Augusta University in Augusta where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.  Jonathan was unique but respectful and kind-hearted.  He could always be found with a cap upon his head and a wide smile across his face and is remembered most for his smile.  Jonathan loved people and animals, especially dogs, and was an old soul in a young man’s body, finding happiness in a simple life.  He was passionate about deer and dove hunting, classic cars and trucks, golf, and UGA football.  Jonathan loved history and enjoyed watching black and white TV shows with a cup of coffee in hand.  From childhood, he found pleasure in offering a hand to anyone in need, and he carried this on throughout his life.  As a boy, he joined his Pop Pop and father at Iron Ax, Inc. in Wadley to begin his career in the family business.  His Pop Pop was serious about business but a little soft with Jonathan and turned his summer job into restoring both a 1978 and a 1987 Chevrolet pickup, which became his most prized possessions.  After college, Jonathan began working full time at Iron Ax, Inc. with hopes of one day carrying on the business.

Pallbearers will be Chase Collins, Jed Crapps, Ryan Green, Josh Hopper, Stevin Hall, Thomas Hall, Eli Jones and Colby Scott.  Honorary pallbearers include Employees of Iron Ax, Inc., Ogeechee Valley Country Club Golf Buddies, and the Thomas Jefferson Academy Class of 2017,

For those desiring, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Jonathan Charlie Kitchens Scholarship Fund, Thomas Jefferson Academy, 2264 U S Highway 1, Louisville, Georgia 30434.
