Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and services of Mr. John Thurman Snider, age 67 of Snider Road Gibson who died Friday evening February 10, 2023, in the Piedmont Augusta Hospital.

 Funeral services to celebrate John’s life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday February 15, 2023, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Gibson, with Father Mark White officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Drake, Stephen Hardin, Wesley Hardin, Stephen Dent, Brinson Rachels and Anthony Usry.

 A native and lifelong resident of Gibson John was a son of the late Josh Clark Snider and Etta Mae Johnson Snider. He was a 1973 graduate of Glascock County High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and had retired from Nouryon Chemical in Augusta after 35 years of service in the maintenance and shipping department. John was a simple man who loved to piddle and work with his hands he was always looking for something to do but his greatest pass time was spending time with his family especially his grandson John Clark Mixon who called him Big Pop.

 John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tracy Snider and is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Cindy Snider, daughter & son in-law, Erin & Darryl Mizon, grandson, John Clark Mixon, sisters, Jennie Veazy, & Julia Williams all of Gibson, brothers, Joel Snider, of Beech Island, SC., and Rodney Lindsen, North Dakota, several nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

 The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday February 14, at the funeral home.
