Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Wendy Jacqueline “Jackie” Dixon, age 87, of Royal Road, Girard, who died Sunday morning, April 19, 2020 at her residence.

Private funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2020 for immediate family only at the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Louisville with Dr. Timothy De Troye officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Godbee, Shane Godbee, Evan Tannenbaum, Dr. Timothy De Troye, Jonathan Rosier, and William Avery Ferron. Burial will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery.

Jackie was a native of Louisville, GA, a daughter of the late William Milo Joiner and Velver Wasden Joiner. She was a 1950 graduate of Louisville High School and a graduate of Georgia College in Millegville. Jackie won several awards for speed typing state championships. For many years, she was co-owner at Dixon Dairy in Girard and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willie Clyde Dixon, son, Timothy Kevin Wall, sister, Dorothy Fischer, and brothers, Wayne Joiner and William Joiner. She is survived by her children, Candy Weeks & Kat Thames of Waynesboro, Dana (Tonia) Dixon of Girard , Melanie (Danny) Godbee of Waynesboro, Shannon (Dr. Tim) De Troye of Aiken, Randy (Sharon) Wall, adopted son, Jimmy Roberts of Gulf Port, FL, grandchildren, Jolene (Manuel) Rivera of Millington, TN, Sunshine (Derek) Ward of Waynesboro, Kayla (Evan) Tannenbaum of Graniteville, Shane (Lori) Godbee of Girard, Freeman Wall of Melbourne, Australia, Savannah Campbell of Aiken, Avery Ferron of Aiken, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make memorials, the family requests donations be made to the nurses of the Burke County Hospital in Waynesboro.
