Hazel Moore was born December 16, 1937 in Davisboro, Georgia and grew up in nearby Louisville. She passed away peacefully on December 14 at Life’s Journey of Avon, Indiana after a long illness.
She left Georgia and moved to Crawfordsville with her then husband, Parmer, where she raised her family.
In 1971 she began her career in floral design in a part-time position with Flowers by Dale and by the mid 80’s she was the proud owner of Flowers ‘n Things and remained so for 35 years. During this time she became the first female member in the local chapter of the Lions Club.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Crawfordsville and in recent years attended Woodland Heights Christian Church. As an avid golfer, she was a very active member of the Crawfordsville Country Club and served on its board of directors.
She was a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was predeceased by her parents Estelle and E. W. “Snap” Glover of Georgia and her brother Charles. She is survived by her children, Steven (Bobby) Moore, John (Christina) Moore, Stephanie (Barry) Pool; grandchildren, Eli and Ethan Moore and Carrie Pool; sisters, Hellen Hartley and Odie Futral; and brother Dan (Joan) Glover.
The family suggests making a charitable donation in Hazel’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
A service celebrating the life of Hazel Moore will be announced at a later date.
