Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and services of Mr. Gary Johnson, age 71 of East Main Street Gibson who died Thursday afternoon January 26, 2023, in the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta.

Services to celebrate Gary’s life will be held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, February 2, 2023, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Gibson.

A native of Gibson Gary was a son of the late Floyd Johnson & Lizzie Whitehead Johnson. He was a United States Army Veteran receiving a Purple Heart. Gary was a jack of all trades and had worked for the Coca Cola bottling Company.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by wife, Sheila Holbrook Johnson, of Gibson, daughter, Marilyn Peebles, of Gibson, granddaughter, Gabrille Peebles, of Gibson, stepson, Steven Johnson, of Thomson, brother, Larry Johnson, several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The Johnson family will receive friends following the services  Thursday at the funeral home.
