Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Frankie Griswell, age 84 of Gibson, who died of Alzheimers on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13, at 3:00 pm in the Magnolia Baptist Church, Gibson with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Holton, James Chalker, Ben Hadden, Ed Morgan, John Raley & Curl Chalker.
Mrs. Griswell was a lifelong resident of Gibson and was a daughter of Will Chalker and Addie Hammock Chalker. Mrs. Frankie worked at the Stapleton Garment Factory, at the JoAnn's Flower Shop in Gibson, and in the cafeteria at GCCS. She loved her jobs, but her favorite past time was spending time with her family. Frankie was always friendly and kind to everyone she met. She loved having fun and talking to everyone she met. She was a great Mama and Grandmother to her family and loved to sing about the Lord. She had many hobbies, she loved baking cakes and making candy, sewing, fishing, and working in the garden. She loved going to church and getting together with her family.
Mrs. Griswell was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Christine Landrum, Corene Todd, and Helen Johnson, and brothers Russell Chalker, Clarence Chalker, Hollis Chalker, and Gerald Chalker. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Moses Griswell, Jr., Son Harold Griswell (Suzanne) of Gibson, daughter Tricia Albright (John) of Mitchell, granddaughters Ashley Haywood of Mitchell, Mindy Marsh (Kevin) of Mitchell, Lauren Griswell of Gibson, grandsons Tyler Sammons (Krista) of Edgehill, John Albright, Jr. (Stacy) of Savannah, great grandchildren Kaylee & Addie Marsh, Presley Haywood, Wyatt Sammons, Brooks & Ava Albright, sisters Wilma Mathis (Olin), Betty Johnson, and brother Winnard Chalker (Hazel), and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The Griswell family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
