Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Emmitt Stavely, Jr., age 74, of Bartow, who died Friday afternoon, February 28, 2020 in the University Hospital Augusta.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, March 2, 2020 at Parkers United Methodist Church with Rev. David Boggs and Rev. Bill Thigpen officiating. Burial will follow at the Parkers United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be AJ Coursey, Travis Coursey, Jackson Robinson, Kevin Unruh, Tommy Wilson, and Charlie Walden and honorary pallbearers will be the Popeye’s Coffee Club
Mr. Stavely was a native of Jefferson county and the son of the late Emmitt Stavely, Sr. and Eliza Upton Stavely. He retired from Thermo King after 37 years as a machinist and working in security and he attended Parker United Methodist Church.
Emmitt was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Sue McKenzie Stavely of Bartow, daughters, Lisa Stavely Coursey (Ronnie) of Louisville, Tina Stavely Unruh (Merv) of Lousiville, Jennifer Stavely Robinson of Bartow, sisters, Marion Arrington of Hephzibah, Shirley Wilson of Wadley, Jewell Cooper of Kite, grandchildren, AJ Coursey, Travis Coursey, Hallie Unruh, Macy Unruh, Tapainga Robinson, Jackson Robinson, Kevin Unruh, Harleigh Robinson, great-grandchildren, Remington Coursey, Paisley Coursey, and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the funeral home. The Stavely family will gather at the home of Tina and Merv Unruh at 201 Forest St. Louisville.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring are asked to make donations to Parkers United Methodist Church in Bartow, Georgia.
