Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and services of Mrs. Ellen Guy Meeks, age 74 of Tennille who died Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11:00 am at Mill Creek Baptist Church, Mitchell with Rev. Chris Johns officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Saturday at the Church and you may also visit next weekend at 4794 Hadden Ranch Rd, Gibson.
A native of Glascock county, Mrs. Meeks was a daughter of the late Alvin Guy and Laura Peebles Guy. She retired as a plant supervisor from Georgia Correctional Industries and was a longtime member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.
She was predeceased in death by her parents, her husband David Meeks and is survived by her daughters Jennifer Sheley of Dublin and Samantha Carter (Gary) of Gibson, grandchildren Tritt Saxon of Tennille, Lincoln Sheley of Dublin, Zoe Sheley of Dublin, Madison Tompkins (Michael) of Gibson, Taylor Larson (Patrick) of Honolulu, HI, great grandchildren Bryson and Legend of Tennille, siblings Jessie Cole of Gibson, Janie Goolsby of Wrens, Tommy Guy of Matthews and Cicero Guy of Stellaville, Susan Hobbs of Gibson, several nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association online https://www.alz.org.
