Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death of Mr. David Hugh Bales, age 82 of 2115 Highway 171 Gibson, who died Thursday afternoon July 30, 2020 in the Doctors Hospital of Augusta
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday August 7, 2020 in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Farmer officiating. Pallbearers will be John Bales, Jr., John Bales, Sr., Triston Bales, Matthew Bales, Jeremiah Lightner & Ricky Williams.
One of seven children born to the late Malcolm Bales and the late Arvella Dixon Bales David was a native of Glascock County and retired after 40 years of service from Granite Company Sibley Division as a Loom Technician. David loved cutting grass and taking care of his goats and donkey. He was a member of Thomson Church of God.
David was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Gordan E. Bales, Norman F. Bales, Malcolm L. Bales & Water W. Bales 2 sisters, Ines B. Rivers & Bessie B. Moore and is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara Kitchens Bales, sons, John Bales of Gibson, David Bales, Jr., of AL., daughter, Angela Eugenia Johnson of Augusta, sister, Ann B. Bradford, of Gibson, 5 grandchildren, John Bales, Jr., David T. Bales, Brand Williford, Matthew Bales & Dakota Perry, 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

There will be an open visitation 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Thursday August 6, 2020 at the funeral home.
