Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. James Darell Neal, age 55, of Mill Creek Church Road in Mitchell, who died Monday morning, September 20, 2021, in the Augusta University Medical Center.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 23, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson with Rev. Tommy Harwell officiating. Burial will follow in Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Scurry, Andrew Usry, Keven Reese, Jason Franks, Trey Franks, and Harvey Welch.

Darell was born December 31, 1965, a son of the late James Ralph Neal & Barbara Ann Neal. He was a truck driver for 30 years, was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. He was a devoted hard-working family man, an avid hunter but his greatest pastime was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Darell was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Misty Neal of Mitchell, son, Ashton (Krystle) Neal of Gibson, daughters, Morgan Leighanne (Luke Gandy) Neal of Mitchell, Sarah Lindsey Neal of Mitchell, mother, Barbara Neal of Gibson, sister, Alisha Neal of Gibson, brother, Dennis (Lyn) Neal of Thomson, niece, Heather (Aaron) Talbott of Augusta, 3 grandchildren, Wyatt, Rebekah, Charlie, and several friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM September 23, 2021 at the funeral home.
