Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Robert Timmons “Bob” Roger, age 81 of Louisville, who died Monday, August 2, 2021, in the Jefferson Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Friday, August 6, 2021, with Pastor Mathew Pierson officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Pine Crest Cemetery in Vidalia.
Bob was a native of Manassas, GA. A son of the late Attis and Minnie Strickland Rogers. He served in the United States Navy and then enlisted in the National Guard. He worked for Union Camp as a Forester for 37 years. After retirement Bob went to work with the Jefferson County Board of Education as a maintenance man and was a member of the United Faith Ministries in Davisboro.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and survived by his wife of 40 years, Carole Swann Rogers of Louisville, sons, Allen Rogers of Ross, ND, David Rogers of Dexter, MO, Steven Kirkland of Brunswick, GA, daughters, Karen Blocker (Joe) of Darien, GA, Kathy Rogers of Augusta, brother, Roy Rogers (Brenda) of Manassas, GA, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family will receive friends 4:00PM until 6:00 PM, Friday, August 6, 2021, at the funeral home.
