Obituary

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death of Mr. William Joel “Billy” Lamb of Highway 171 North Louisville, who died Sunday morning August 13, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday in the Louisville Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Underwood officiating. Burial will be private in the Louisville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Bill Hattaway, Donnie Cobb, Barry Cobb, Scotty Hattaway, Johnny Davis, and Cleve Lamb.

A native and lifelong resident of Louisville, Billy was a son of the late Cleveland Brinson Lamb, Jr. and Alice McClellan Lamb. He graduated from Louisville Academy and served in the Army National Guard, He was a farmer and worked in the logging business for more than 30 years with J&B Timber and was a longtime member of Louisville Methodist Church. His greatest pastime was spending time with his family.

Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 48 years Mary Hattaway Lamb, his only brother, Cleveland Brinson “Sonny” Lamb, Jr. and is survived by son: William Joel Lamb and his wife Anne of Louisville; daughters: Lisa Johnson and her husband Cliff of Stapleton, Lynn Miller and her husband Roan of Sandersville; grandchildren, Chip Johnson (Michelle), Will Johnson (Sammie Joe), Alison Johnson, William Lamb, Ansley Lamb, Maggie Miller, Mary Frances Miller, Matt Miller, Ivey Miller Benson (Allen), Magan Bell, (Kerry), Bivins Miller (Danielle), Harley Miller (Mallory), great grandchildren, Ford Johnson and Miller Anne Johnson, special friend, Alice Davis, several nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 till 11:30 AM Tuesday prior to the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests, those desiring, please make memorial contributions to one of the following: Louisville Methodist Church, Thomas Jefferson Academy.

Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
