Wanda Scarber Chapman

Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and service of Ms. Wanda Lee Scarber Chapman, age 72, of Dublin, who died Tuesday morning, March 25, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon, March 28, 2026, in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson with Rev. Justin Raley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Church of Glascock County Cemetery.

Wanda was a native of Gibson, born on August 2, 1953, a daughter of the late Leroy Scarber and Laurie Shelton Scarber. She graduated from Glascock County High School. For several years Wanda worked in the cafeteria at Washington County Regional Medical Center, and she previously attended Bethel Church of Glascock County. She was a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she served in many roles including Worthy Matron.

Ms. Chapman was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Raley; son in-law, Lonnie Yates and is survived by her son, Gregory Chapman, (Rebecca) of Dublin; daughter, Michelle Yates of Thomson; brother Wayne Scarber (Sheila) of Gibson; 5 grandchildren: Trevor Palmer (Alyssa), Kaylan Yates, Dorian Yates, Leigh Anna Chapman, and Madison Chapman; 4 great-grandchildren: Charlee Palmer, Xavier Yates, Cooper Palmer, and Azalea McMillan-Moss; several nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the services at the funeral home Saturday March 28, 2026.
