Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Alice Vivian Braddock, age 89, of Beall Springs Road, Gibson, who died Tuesday morning, December 17, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2024 in the Waldens Church in Avera with Minister Julian D. Braddock officiating. Burial will follow in Waldens Church Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Jonathan Braddock Sr., Jonathan Braddock Jr., Jacob Braddock, Riley Braddock, Mason Beau Brown and Brian Jackson.
Vivian was born in Gibson, one of 16 children of the late John Story & Francis Kent Story. She was a weaver, working for King Mill for 40 years. And a long-time member of Waldens Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Julian (Joe) Braddock, two sisters, six brothers, son-in-law: Brian Wells, and is survived by sons: Joseph Braddock (Emma) and Johnny Glen Braddock; daughters: Mitzie Braddock, Tamela Wells, Nicole Hayes (Donald); sisters: Frankie Johnson, Joyce Smith, Johnnie Mae Walden, and Glender Padgett; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; fur buddy: Waffles; caregivers: Lillian Echols and Constance Mason, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at their home, 1191 Beall Springs Road, Gibson, 5:00p.m.-9:00p.m. Thursday night.
