Taylor Funeral Home of Waynesboro announces the death of Mrs. Thelma Parker Rogers, age 76 of GA Highway 56 South Waynesboro, who died Monday evening, October 12, 2015 in the Doctors Hospital in Augusta.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, October 15, in the Burke Memorial Gardens with Reverend Wayne Dixon officiating. Pallbearers will be: George DeLoach, Chris Collins, Jody Prescott, Mark Rogers, Rusty Eskew and Jeff Joyner.
A native of Jenkins County, Thelma was the daughter of the late Harrison and Gladys Parker. She had lived most of her adult life in Burke County. She taught school for 39 years at Edmund Burke Academy and Hephzibah Middle School, and was of the Methodist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Jack Ivester Rogers and her parents, and is survived by daughter and son-in-law; Terri and Larry Lariscy of Waynesboro, grandchildren; Stephen Matthew Crooms, Samantha Morgan Crooms, Sylvia Macy Crooms and Larry Michael Lariscy, great-grandson; Camden Jack Mead, all of Waynesboro, step-grandchildren; Robert Chance Lariscy, Brittany Lariscy Stopka and step great-grandson; Brendyn Drake Lariscy, all of Sylvania.
The Rogers Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
