Skippy Chalker

Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and services of Mr. Leon William "Skippy" Chalker, age 76 of Okley Road in Avera who died Saturday morning, November 26, 2016 in the Augusta University Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday evening, November 29, 2016 in the Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson with Rev. Al Kurtz officiating. The Chalker family will receive friends following the service.
A native of Gibson, Skippy was the son of the late Harry Lee & Louise Usry Chalker. He was a United States Army Veteran, a longtime member of Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Church and the VFW. He had retired from Albion Kaolin after many years of service as a mechanic.
Mr. Chalker was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his children, Angela and John Sebastian of Stapleton; Wendy Schmidt of Avera; Barry and LaDonna Chalker of Avera and Billy Chalker of Avera; brother, J.L. and Daisy Chalker of Gibson; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
