Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death of Mrs. Shelby Jean Shelton, age 70 of Harden Road Gibson, Georgia, who died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 26, in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Anderson officiating. Pallbearers will be Lynn May, Shirl Shelton, Cecil Shelton, Chris Shelton, Matthew Usry and Frank McGahee.
A native of Louisville, Mrs. Shelton was a daughter of the late John Broadus & Elizabeth McGahee Davis. She was a 1964 graduate of Wrens High School, a retired seamstress from Stapleton Garment Factory where she worked for 27 years, and a member of the Walden's United Methodist Church.
Shelby was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Joseph Broadus Davis, and John Randy Davis and is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, James Shelton of Gibson, son Edward & Allyson Shelton of Gibson, sister, Betty & Bucky Norton of Louisville, sister-in-law, Ginger Davis of Avera, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews.
The Shelton will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM just prior to the service at the church.
