Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death of Mrs. Ruth Virginia Chalker Reese, age 87 of Evans who died Tuesday afternoon August 18, 2020 in the Doctors Hospital in Augusta.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday August 22, 2020 in the Sheppard Memorial Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson with Rev. Tommy Harwell officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Gibson.

A native of Glascock County, Mrs. Reese was the daughter of the late Garner B. Chalker and the late Maude Edith Sheppard Chalker. She was a realtor for many years and was a member of Warren Baptist Church in Augusta.

Mrs. Chalker was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Reese brothers, Calvin Chalker, Garvin Chalker, Don G. Chalker, B. A. Chalker, sisters, Edna Bowen, Margaret Thompson and is survived by her sister's in-law,  Beckie S. Chalker of Lincolnton and Mattie Jean Reese of Hephzibah, 10 nieces and 2 nephews.

The family will receive friends following the services Saturday at the funeral home.
