Louisville
Mrs. Ruth Brannen Bargeron passed away peacefully at her home on October 16, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet grace, which will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
Born to Andrew Lloyd Brannen and Beulah Bragg Brannen, Ruth was the youngest of seven children and was predeceased by her six older siblings. She married the love of her life, Emory E. Bargeron and together they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage, raising a beautiful family that was her greatest pride.
Ruth was not only a devoted wife and mother, but also a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating her flower shop for over 30 years. Her passion for her business was evident in everything she did, and she balanced her work with unwavering dedication to her family. She was a mother to four children: Brannen Bargeron (Kitty), Emory "Bubba" Bargeron (Cathy), Julia Durr (Drew), and Ruthie Naylor (James), and a grandmother to eight grandchildren: Emily Bargeron (Clark), Beth James (Tyler), Andrew Durr (Laura), Zachary Naylor, Clayton Naylor, Haley Morgan (Jeff), Justin Bargeron, and Hillary Durr (Josh). Her joy only grew as her family expanded, and she became a great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren who filled her life with love and laughter.
Her grandchildren, who fondly called her "Gooma," were the light of her life. She made each one feel uniquely special with her boundless love, and the warmth of her presence was a source of strength and comfort for them all. The bond she shared with her grandchildren was one of life's great gifts—rooted in patience, understanding, and a deep, abiding love that will carry on for generations.
Her family takes solace in knowing that her spirit will live on through the many lives she touched, and her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration. Those who knew her will remember the way her face would light up when her loved ones walked into the room, and the sense of peace her presence brought.
The family would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to Louise Holloway, Linda Holloway, Willie Gilmore, and Kevin Smith for their constant friendship and support.
Ruth Bargeron's legacy is one of love and devotion—an enduring testament to a life lived fully and beautifully. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
