Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and services of Mrs. Robin Elizabeth Usry, age73, of Lampp Road in Gibson who died Thursday morning, July 16, 2026, at her home.
A celebration of Robin’s Life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in the Johnson Methodist Church with Mark Kent officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
Robin was the daughter of the late Ross Jacobsen and Ruth Johnson Jacobsen. She worked for the Glascock County Transit Department for 20 years and retired as the director. She was the president of the Glascock County Historical Society and was instrumental in the publication of the forthcoming cookbook, A Taste of History. Robin was the biggest giver and would help anyone she could. She loved to fish and had a great love horses and animals and could be seen feeding strays around Gibson. She loved sports and her greatest pastime was watching the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Braves, and the Atlanta Falcons.
She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 25 years, Victor Usry of Gibson; brother, Ross Jacobsen of Woodstock; and her beloved fur babies: Raven, Mr. Huck, Prissy, and Buckey.
Family request flowers be omitted and memorials in Robins’ name be made to a charity that helps animals.
