Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mrs. Rita G. McNeely who died Tuesday December 20, 2022, in the Doctor's Hospital Augusta.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home Louisville with Rev. Edward Salter officiating.  Visitation will follow the service.  Burial will be in the Moxley Cemetery.

Mrs. McNeely was a native of Sandersville but had made Bartow her home for many years. She was a daughter of William Garland and Rachel Duggan Garland.  She was a graduate of Brentwood School. She retired as a nurse for Jefferson Hospital after 25 years of service. She was a member of Moxley United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday School.

Mrs. McNeely is predeceased by her parents and her husband of 35 years, Terry Lewis McNeely and is survived by her son Micah McNeely (Janelle) of Bartow, a daughter Heather Grubbs (Michael) of Augusta, a brother Gene Summerlin (Janet) of Eatonton, Sisters Marie Durden (Jack) of Deepstep, Patricia Martin of Eastman, Sherri Boatright of Sandersville, Kim Kennedy (Keith) of Sandersville, and grandchildren Abby, Jacob, Hannah, Emily, Elizabeth, and Eleanor.  Rita also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
