Richard Ellis Dudley

WADLEY – Mr. Richard Ellis Dudley, age 68 of Calhoun Street, died Friday, December 6, 2013 in the V.A. Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 13, 2013 in the Moxley Methodist Church with Rev. David Boggs and Mr. Tommy DuBose officiating. Mr. Dudley will lie in state at 1:00 PM before the service. Burial will follow in the Wadley City Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Garry Cavanar, Rick Copeland, Tyler Copeland, Larry Purvis, Don Hodges and Joe Miller.

Richard was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. A son of the late Robert Lane & Emily Arlene Hall Dudley, Richard served in the US Army, was a retired truck driver and a member of Moxley Methodist Church.

Mr. Dudley was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard Allen Dudley and sister Frances Dudley Carroll and is survived by his loving wife Gail Dudley,  of Wadley, daughter Sabrina & Raymond Goetzka of Deepstep, daughter-in-law Terri Dudley of Louisville grandchildren Maura Dudley, Jennifer Dudley, Hunter Larimore, Baylee Larimore, MJ George, Malory George, Sheena (Stefan) Smith, Bessie Larimore, Chloe Larimore, Sarah Anne Goetzka & Daniel Goetzka, nephew Paul (Candy) Carroll of Dublin.

The Dudley family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the funeral home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Moxley Methodist Church C/O Mary Lois Gaston, 1175 Walden Brett Road, Wadley, Ga. 30477.
