Mr. Ray May, age 85, of Edge Hill-Mitchell Road, Mitchell, Georgia died Friday morning, May 17, 2013, in the Gibson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, May 19, in the Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Al Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Kitchens, Chris Sheppard, Randy Chalker, Ralph Kelley, Craig Reese, and Bill Raley.
A native and lifelong resident of Glascock County, Ray was the son of George Grover and Lizzie Mae Reese May. He was an Army veteran, had worked at Thomson Company in the stock room for many years and retired from the paint department of Thermo King. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and a longtime member of Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Church.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by special cousin and caregiver, Bobbie Kitchens of Avera; special friend, Marvin Findley of Mitchell; numerous cousins and other family members.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
