Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mrs. Peggy Aldred Forrest Wood, age 67, of 1978 River Road Wadley, Georgia, who died Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 7, 2025 in the Louisville First Baptist Church with Mr. Corey Forrest, Rev. Jonathan Melchior, and Rev Edward Salter officiating. Private graveside services will be in the Parkers United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bartow. Pallbearers will be Bubba Bargeron, Brannen Bargeron, William Toulson, Tim Moore, Jeff Partridge, and Trevor Forrest. Peggy was a simple country girl who did not like suits and fancy dresses, so please come as you are, because that's what she loved.
A native of Jefferson County, Peggy was born March 20, 1958, to Joe Ann McKenzie Aldred and the late Edward Aldred. Her Aunt, Betty Sue Stavely said she was her first baby to spoil. Peggy was the oldest of four sisters, Bobbie Jean Aldred Newsome (Randy); of Bartow, Thelma Aldred Watkins (Kenny); of Bartow, and Joanna Aldred Hattaway (Bill); of Bartow. Peggy had 2 sons, the late Thomas Forrest, who died in a car accident on January 23, 2017, and Corey Forrest (Valerie) of Louisville. After her first husband Tommy Forrest's death, in May of 1990, Peggy and her two sons moved back to Jefferson County. She later met and married Barry Wood on June 22, 1991. Peggy is also survived by her grandchildren: Trevor Forrest, McKenzie Forrest, Edward Forrest, and Isaiah Forrest. Peggy was the Office Manager at Bargeron Realty for 35 years, where she made lifelong friends. Bubba & Cathy Bargeron, William Toulson, Marsha Searcy, and Debbie Weinberg were very special to her. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, mother in-law, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, grandmother, and friend.
For those desiring to make a donation, Peggy would want memorials to be made in her name to the Louisville First Baptist Church Children's Ministry, 101 East 9th Street Louisville, Georgia 30434 or to
