Mrs. Pauline Stavely Poole Stewart, age 93, of Highway 24 West, Bartow, died Thursday, September 13, 2012.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday September 16, in the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Keener officiating. Burial will follow in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Tony Stavley, Louis Stavley, Robert Stavley, Riley Stavley, Mark Gilvin and Bill Black.
A native of Jefferson County Mrs. Stewart was born September 9, 1919 a daughter of the late Mr. W.R. and Ethel Cooper Stavely. Mrs. Stewart was a retired registered nurse and worked at Jefferson Hospital for 23 years. She was the supervisor of OR and a surgical assistant. She was supervisor of the delivery room and emergency room as well as being a X-ray technologist. She retired in the 1970's and went to work at Thermo King as the industrial nurses where she received her license as industrial Eudiometry. She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Louisville for 60 plus years where she taught the Young Adult Class in BTU and was the secretary of WMU. She was also the president of Business and Professional Woman's Club, Secretary of Louisville Home Makers Club and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Bartow for the past 4 years where she was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her first husband Edward Poole, her second husband Keith L. Stewart, her parents, brothers William Everett, LeRoy and Ashley Stavely, L.A., Jeff and step-brothers Charles Garrett and Louis Garrett, step-sisters Alma Garrett Dunn and Doris Garrett Poole and is survived by daughters Joyce Poole Joyner (Mays) of Fayetteville, GA, and Linda Poole Bledsoe (Horace, Jr.) of Aiken, SC, grandchildren Michael Joyner (Michelle) of Dallas, GA, Phyllis Joyner Pitts (Louis) of Senoia, GA, Tyler Bledsoe (Deborah) of Irmo, SC, and Dr. Grant Bledsoe (Joyce) of Charleston, SC, Great-grandchildren Amanda Pitts Foster (Mike), Khristina Pitts, Courtney Joyner, Hannah Joyner, Brandon Joyner, Grayson Bledsoe, Elloitt Bledsoe, Emily Bledsoe, Garrett Bledsoe and Neve Bledsoe, sisters Elizabeth Ussury, Jewell Gilvin, Evelyn Merritt and Carolyn Andrews, sister in laws Francis Stavely, Joyce Stavely, Martha Garrett and Lauree Garrett, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00PM Saturday, September 15 at the funeral home.
