Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. William Mike Patton, age 51 of Farrer Road Wadley, GA, who died Sunday morning, June 19, 2016 in the Jefferson Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Louisville First Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch Vaughn and Sheriff Gary Hutchins officiating. Burial will follow in the Moxley Cemetery. Mike will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until time of service. Pallbearers will be: Chip Evans, Freddie Hill, James Kitchens, Gary Hutchins and Clark Hiebert. Honorary Pallbearers will be of law enforcement officers.
A native of Louisville, Mike was a son of the late William E. Patton and Lena Pate Patton. Mike served in law enforcement for 30 years, mostly as a Deputy Sheriff with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. He was a member of Shekinah Baptist Church in Louisville, with ties to Freedom Fellowship Church in Bartow.
Mike was preceded in death by his father; grandfathers, William E. Patton, Jr., and Paul Brett; grandmother, Amanda Brett and grandparents, Russell and Alleene Pate and is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Patton of Wadley; son, William M. Patton, II of Wadley; daughter, Pate Patton of Kite; daughter, Anna Patton of Kite; step-daughters, Samantha Salter and Whitney Salter of Wadley and Christina Rodriquez of Atlanta; grandchildren, Joseph McDaniel of Wadley, Natalia McDaniel of Wrens, Rayleigh Hutcheson and Liam Stapleton of Kite; mother, Lena Patton of Wadley; sister, Debbie McManus of Stapleton; nieces, Elizabeth Bryant of Louisville and Jessica Farrer of Swainsboro; in laws, Danny and Carol Whittle of Dexter; sister in laws, Melissa Evans and Lorraine Curry of Wrentz; brother in law, Joey Whittle of Dexter; aunts, Jeraldine Ferrington of Tennessee, Linda Chappell of Atlanta and & Teresa Horton of Martinez; uncle, Russell Pate of Wadley and cousin, Rusty Pate of Wadley
The Patton family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Taylor Funeral Home.
