Meta Shelton

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services for Mrs. Meta Simpson Dalton Shelton, age 95 of Louisville, GA who died Friday, March 7, 2014 in Heritage Healthcare of Old Capital in Louisville.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Raymond Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Shelton was born September 29, 1918 in Pittsylvania County, VA, a daughter of the late Morgan Simpson and Minerva Goad Simpson. She was twice married, first to the late Clay A. Dalton and then to the late Robert B. Shelton. She was also predeceased by a brother and five sisters, Joel Simpson, Edna Yeatts, Agatha Simpson, Velma Moore, Carrie Myers, and Annie George.

Mrs. Shelton was a member of Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church and was a home maker. She enjoyed sewing and cooking.

She is survived by one daughter, Jeanette Hughes and husband, John of Hephzibah, GA; one son, Morris Dalton and wife, Carolyn of Gretna; one sister, Vonnie Custer of Gretna; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, March 10, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home in Gretna, VA
