Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mayor Larry Morgan, of Academy Drive, Louisville, who died Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 5, in the Louisville City Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Melchior and Rev. Bill Cain officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be T.W. Wilson Sunday school class, all employees of the city of Louisville, and the Louisville City Council. Due to technical issues the service will not be live streamed. We are sorry for any inconvenience. Because of the family's concern for public health and safety during this pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is encouraged.

A native of Washington, GA, Larry was a son of the late James P. Morgan & Marion K. Norton. Mr. Morgan retired after many years of service from Ace Hardware, and Smith Sheppard Concrete. He was elected to the Louisville city council in 2007 and elected Mayor of Louisville in 2009. Throughout the years, Mayor Morgan has demonstrated his commitment to the community by serving in various roles with Louisville First Baptist Church, The County Board of Health, The Downtown Development Association, The Georgia Municipal Association, The Georgia Airport Association, and the local Rotary Club. Larry was a loving husband, father, a devoted Christian, and an advocate for his community.

Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, brother, C. Brian Morgan and is survived by, wife Marsha H. Morgan of Louisville, daughter, Nichole & Sam Lord, of Martinez, grandson, Brayden M. Lord of Martinez, mom, N. Dean Morgan of Louisville, brother, Gene Barnes (Sylvia) of Marietta, sister, Cindy Dominici (David) of Evans, nieces, Maggie Morgan, Ali Barnes, Lainey Folden, and nephews, Patrick Morgan, and Brian Morgan.

There will be an open visitation from 12:00 to 5:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, those desiring please make memorial contributions to Louisville First Baptist Church, 101 E 9th St, Louisville, GA 30434

Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Louisville will be in charge of arrangements.
