Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Mary A. West, age 87 of Highway 171 North, Gibson, who died Monday evening in the Doctors Hospital in Augusta.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home in Gibson. Burial will be in the Edgehill Latter Day Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Don Finch, Dick Embry, Ken Pullum, Larry Kent, Ernie Marrs and David Moore.
A native of Glascock County, Mrs. West was a daughter of the late Norman & Bell McCoy Williams. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Harlem Ward.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Burton West; brothers, Vinson Williams, Cleo Williams, and Joseph Williams; and sister, Vera Thigpen and is survived by her son, Terry West of Gibson; daughter, Donna Knight of Warrenton; grandchildren, Shelley Kernohan of Spring, TX, Shawn West of Edgehill, Shane West of Edgehill, and Scott Smith of Lynnwood, WA; great grandchildren, Katie, Alexis and Patrick, several nieces and nephews.
The West family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, February 11 at the funeral home.
