Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Marvin Meeks, age 78, of Tennille, who died Friday, evening July 26, 2019 in the Washington County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday July 29, graveside in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille, with Rev. Bobby Williford officiating.

Mr. Meeks was a native of Mitchell but had lived in Tennille for many years. He was the son of the late Benage Meeks & Helen Johnson Meeks. Marvin retired from the Department of Transportation after 34 years of services as a diesel mechanic and was a long-time member of Mitchell Methodist Church.

Mr. Meeks was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by wife, Mary Dunn Meeks, of Tennille, daughter, Patrica Meeks of Tennille, sisters, Martha Mathis & Dalhia Dunn, grandchildren, Alex & Hillary Burden, Ayla Meeks & Aylssa Meeks, great grandchildren, Asher Burden & Coraline Burden, several nieces & nephews.

The Meeks family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday July 28, at the funeral home.
