Margaret Reagan Goodson

March 16, 1928 — September 6, 2012

WADLEY - Mrs. Margaret Reagan Goodson, age 84, of West Smith Street, died Thursday, September 6, 2012 in the University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, September 10, 2012 in the Wadley Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Harrison and Rev. David Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Wadley City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Kitchens, Jr., Stephen Morgan, Chip Raines, Matthew Bryan, Clyde Bowie, Robbie Kearney, and James Kitchens.

A native of White Park, Florida, Mrs. Goodson was the daughter of the late Joseph Hampton Reagan and Alma Elizabeth Sapp.  She had worked for the bank of Wadley as a teller, and the Census Bureau. She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church, and a member of the Aiken Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Mrs. Goodson was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Emmett Allen Goodson,  and is survived by daughters, Patricia C. Kitchens, of Hephzibah, Judy C. (William) McAlhany of Harlem, and Laura G. (Bob) Silas, son, Emmett Allen Goodson Jr. of Hilo, Hawaii, grandchildren Danny V. Kitchens, Jr., (Paula), Stephen T. Morgan IV (Kelly), LeAnne K. Bowie (Clyde), Chip Raines (Carol-Laine), and Alena S. Bryan (Matthew), seven great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The Goodson family may be contacted at the residence of Chip Raines 2499 Old US 1, Wadley, Georgia.

The family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Baptist Church or Wadley Baptist Church Memorial Funds.
