Mrs. Maggie Reid Kitchens, age 87, of Pete Smith Road, Wadley, died Friday afternoon February 18, 2011, in the Glendale Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 21, in the Moxley Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Manning officiating. Pallbearers will be: Bill Bragg, Thomas Dye, Pat Bell, Mike Bell, Mitchell McGraw, & Waldo Lamb. Burial will follow in the family plot in the Moxley Cemetery.
Mrs. Kitchens was a daughter of the late Oliver & Marion Odom Reid, a homemaker, and member of Moxley Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Thomas Kitchens; a daughter, Elaine Bragg; son, Frankie Kitchens; grandson, Patrick Garrett; sister, Katie Larisey; brothers, Russell Reid, Charlie Reid, and Junior Reid.
Mrs. Kitchens is survived by: two sons Charles "C.T." Kitchens of Evans, Walter Kitchens & his wife Louise of Wadley; daughter, Marynel Garrett & her husband Terry of Bartow; brother, Thomas Reid of Millen; sisters, Bobbie Lamb of Statesboro & Grace Markovic of Rockyford; son-in-law, Bill Bragg of Louisville; daughter-in-law, Sharon Kitchens of Wadley; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
The family will be at the home of Walter & Louise Kitchens at 1567 Pete Smith Road in Wadley.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 Sunday at the Funeral Home.
