She worked at Henderson Chevrolet for many years and later with the United States Postal Service. She also shared her talents through baking and catering, where she was especially known for decorating beautiful wedding and birthday cakes.

A devoted member of First Baptist Church Louisville, Lorna was active in many areas of church life. She sang in the choir, participated in Women on Mission (WMU), taught Sunday School, and hosted youth gatherings. She was also involved in her community through the Pilot Club, Red Hat Society, Jefferson County Historical Society, and Daughters of the American Revolution NC (DAR). She also volunteered at the voting polls.

Lorna had a deep love for genealogy and enjoyed researching her family history. She also loved singing, reading, travelling, volunteering, and spending time with those she loved. Her greatest joy was her family!
