Taylor funeral home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Linda Carol Watson, age 78 of Mitchell, who died Monday morning June 17, 2024 at her home.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 21, 2024, in the Gibson First Baptist Church with Rev. Crag White and Mr. Lance McCloud officiating. Burial will be at a later time.
Mrs. Watson was a native of Greenville, AL., one of 10 children of the late Lane & Margie Hartley. She was a homemaker and a member of Gibson First Baptist Church where she worked along side of her husband Pastor Dean Watson for 9 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and 9 siblings and is survived by her husband of 60 years Rev. Walter Dean Watson, of Mitchell, daughters, Margie Turner, of Mitchell, Melinda (Craig) White of Rainsville, AL., Hope (John) McClellan, of Appling, GA., brother Hayward Lamar (Teresa) Hartley, Northport, AL., grandchildren Dennis Turner III, Macie Lacau, Gabrielle Billows (Chance), Bridget Zimmerman, Dean White, Coleman McClellan (Courtney), Lydney Moorehead (Mick), Wade McClellan, Dawson McClellan, and Allison Turner, great grandchildren Hartley, Hank Landry and Annaleigh, numerous nieces, nephews and the many who had lived in her home and she helped raise.
A special thank you to Vivian Smith and Patty Gilmore for all of their time and love extended through the many years of sickness.
The Watson family will receive friends Friday June 21, one hour before the service at the Gibson Baptist Church.
