Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Lewis Brinkley Johnson, Jr, 76, of Gibson who died Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the Pruitt Health Old Capital of Louisville.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Knowles Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sparta, with the Rev. Darrell McGinnis and Mr. Glenn Johnson officiating.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Hancock County. He was a son of the late Lewis Brinkley Johnson, Sr. and Mary Clyde Howell Johnson. He retired from The City of Sparta, Utilities Department after many years of service and was a member of Knowles Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by; his dear friend and companion of 30 years, Ms. Geraldine Wood, of Gibson, his son, Perry Johnson, of Marietta, a brother, Ronnie Johnson, of Sparta, and a nephew, Glenn Johnson, of Sparta, many neighbors and friends.

The Johnson family will receive friends 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, September 8, at the funeral home.
