Lee Murray Gardner, Jr.

Taylor Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. Lee Murray Gardner, Jr., age 81 of Bartow, who died Sunday, September 6, 2026.

A private graveside service will be held in the Bethesda Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Wadley with Rev. Edward Salter officiating. Pallbearers will be Ty Bright, Rhett Gardner, Dawson Gardner, Jesse Hadden, Ron Dozier, and Bailey Wren. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Moye, Reco Moye, Allen Cheely, and Anthony Webb.

Mr. Gardner was a native of Americas, GA, a son of the late, Lee Murray Gardner and Dot Reid Gardner. He was a lifelong farmer, started Gardner Farms, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren had his heart. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a great love for and was a supporter of Thomas Jefferson Academy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Leigh Ann Gardner Brett; sister, Pat Traywick and is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Mrs. Gloria Stanger Gardner of Bartow; son & daughter in-law, Tre & Jeri Gardner of Bartow; son in-law, Ray Brett of Louisville; grandchildren: Ty Brett (Porsha) of Louisville, Anna Brett Hadden (Jessie) of Louisville, Rhett Gardner (Madison) of Riddleville, Dawson Gardner of Bartow, sister, Connie Dozier (James) of Plains, brother Jerry Gardner of Cullman, Alabama; great-grandchildren: Mayleigh Ann Hadden, Bertie Rae Hadden, Tinsley Ray Brett, Bo Coleman Brett, and Grady Lee Gardner; special family friend, Panda Williams Arrington, several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in his name be made to the Thomas Jefferson Academy Booster Club, 2264 Highway 1 North, Louisville, GA 30434.
