Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services for Mr. Kester Williford who passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on Sunday, May 31th.

He was born on September 21, 1930, to parents Will and Daisy Williford. Kester was preceded in death by his parents, wife Polly Williford, brothers Pierce Williford, Clexton Williford and Chanalee Willliford. He is survived by his wife, Joan Williford, sister, June Williford, son, Ronald Williford (Beth) grandchildren Cody Williford (Rachel) and Katy Hicks (Dustin) and five great grandchildren, Ruby and Beau Williford and Lake, Indie and Branch Hicks.

He is also survived by his step children Rick Howard (Carla), Vicky Clark (Doug) and Katie Boatwright (Jeff), step grandchildren Josh Clark, Brent Howard (Amy), Matt Howard (Erin), Britton Boatwright (Whittney), Ami Pike (Collin), step-great grandchildren Jackson Howard, Katherine Howard, Chase Howard, Kayleigh Howard, Rhett Boatwright, Margot Boatwright, Daisy Pike and Lila Pike.

Kester was a faithful servant of the Lord who enjoyed all aspects of life. He enjoyed traveling the country with his family and being outside. He always found ways to stay busy whether it was tinkering with his tools or spending time at his childhood land. Kester had love and joy for life and the Lord.

Kester was a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisville where he served as deacon for many years and a member of the T W Wilson and Philathea Sunday School classes. He was a member of the local Lions Club, Masonic Lodge #98 and Shriners. He was employed by Georgia Power Company for 40 years, City of Louisville for 5 years and Jefferson County School System for 12 years.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4th at First Baptist Church in Louisville at 10:00 a.m. with graveside burial immediately following the service in the Louisville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Taylor Funeral Home in Louisville on Wednesday, June 3rd from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Honorary pallbearers will be T W Wilson Sunday School class, Philathea Sunday School Class and members of Stonewall Lodge 98. Pallbearers will be Tim Williams, Harold Thomas, Ken Wheatley, Dale Williamson, Mike McDowell and Alan Fletcher.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Pruitt Hospice, Family Hospice, Miss Mae Kelly, Harold Thomas and the many special friends that helped during his illness.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Church, Louisville GA, Stonewall Lodge 98 scholarship fund 1470 Sylvan Grove Rd. Stapleton GA 30823, St Jude’s and Boys Town.
