Mrs. Kathryn Radford Chalker, age 87 of Old Highway 1, Wadley, Georgia died Thursday evening December 6, 2012.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday December 10, in the Louisville Church of God with Rev. Eugene Evors & Mr. Pete Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Avera. Pallbearers will be, Gary Hutchins, A.J. Olgesby, Skip Davis, Randy Walden, Jerry Brinkley & Raymond Brinkley.
A native of McDuffie County, Mrs. Chalker was a daughter of the late John C. & Dora Rickman Brinkley; she retired from Louisville manufacturing after several years of service as a seamstress. She was the last founding member of Louisville Church of God where she was a member for 59 years and was a loving mother and grandmother. For the past 7 years she lived & received care from her son, Alvin (Darlene) Radford.
Kathryn, was preceded in death by her parents, 7 siblings, 3 husbands, Walter Radford, Frank Radford & J.C. Chalker and is survived by, children, Florence Shavers, of Warrenton, Vesta Kilgore of Gordon, Chester Radford of Avera, Walter (Brenda) Radford of Midville, Alvin (Darlene) Radford of Wadley, Terry (Etta) Radford of Wadley, numerous grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews,
The family will be at the residence 3150 Old Highway 1 in Wadley, and will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday December 9, at the funeral home.
Taylor Funeral Home 401 W. 8th Street, Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
