Taylor funeral home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mrs. Kandy Marie Allen McClendon, 44, of Blythe who died Saturday, November 1, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the Cross Community Church Louisville with Rev. Edward Salter officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Meeks, Johnathon Ellis, James Lampkin, Glen McClendon, David McTier and Jace McTier.
Kandy was one of two children born to Edith Marie Jones Allen and the late Charles Douglas Allen. She was a lifelong resident of Wrens and attended Wrens High School. She enjoyed reading and writing poetry—a great treasure that now provides much solace. Never having the opportunity to travel, she could only dream of the places about which she read. Being very smart with a great sense of humor, Kandy was always telling jokes and trying to make people laugh—she wanted everyone to be happy. Above all else, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren who brought her great joy.
Kandy was also preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Allen. Other survivors include her daughters, Sierra N. Meeks (Eric), Ariel M. Lampkin (James) and Jasmine L. Ellis (Johnathon); and nine grandchildren, Eric Meeks, Aaliyah Meeks, Holly McClendon, Makayla Meeks, Shalynn Lampkin, Jace Lampkin, Christian McClendon, Kallyns Ellis and Ryleigh Ellis, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Cross Community Church from 12:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the services on Thursday.
Because of the unexpected nature of their loss, the family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions to be made directly to Taylor Funeral Home, 401 West 8th Street Louisville, Georgia 30434.
Taylor Funeral Home 401 West 8th Street Louisville is in charge of arrangements.
