Julia Allen

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services  of Mrs. Julia Gordy Allen, age 88 of East Peachtree Street, Louisville, Georgia who died Friday afternoon, December 19, 2014 in the Heritage Healthcare of Old Capitol.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday December 22, in the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Witt officiating. Burial will in the family plot in the Louisville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen was a native of Louisville a daughter of the late Robert Lee & Ebbie Lee Ganus Gordy. She had worked as a School bus driver, for the Louisville shirt factory and at Thermo King and was a homemaker. She was a member of Louisville first Baptist Church for more than 76 years.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willie June Allen, and 4 brothers. She is survived by sons, Jay Allen of Louisville, Bobby Allen of Deatsville, AL, sister, Evelyn McCard of Albany, brothers, Judson Gordy & Bob L. Gordy of Louisville, 2 granddaughters, Jill Hall & Laura Laird, 3 great-grandsons Cooper Hall, Walker Hall & Murphy Laird, several nieces & nephews.

The Allen family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Monday just prior to the services  at the funeral home.
