LOUISVILLE, GA - Mrs. Joyce Quattry, age 73, of Daniel Clements Road died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in the Doctors Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the Bartow Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Mrs. Quattry will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM until funeral time. Burial will follow in the Walden's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Avera. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Goodwin, Wes Goodwin, Chris Goodwin, Josh Otis, Matt Otis, and Frank Williford.
A native of Louisville, Joyce was a daughter of the late Enoch and Mary McTier McGahee. She was a 1958 graduate of Louisville Academy and earned a business degree from Augusta College, and had worked many years as an administrator at Winter Park Memorial Hospital in Winter Park, FL and Jefferson Hospital in Louisville. She was a faithful member of Bartow Baptist Church. She had also been a faithful employee of the Book Worm in Louisville and was a receptionist at Taylor Funeral Homes Louisville & Gibson. Mrs. Joyce will be missed by all who knew her.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Thelma Spoon and Hazel Lamb. She is survived by her husband, John Quattry of Louisville, daughter & son-in-law, Mary and Paul Liakos of Lake Mary, Fl, sister Wilma Snellgrove of North Augusta, SC, 2 grandchildren, Amanda & Mark Valentino, & Paul Liakos, Jr. all of Lake Mary, Fl, 2 great-grandchildren, Vinny & Sophia Valentino, and many friends.
The Quattry family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, January 24 at the funeral home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Bartow Baptist Church at P.O. Box 118 Bartow, GA 30413.
