Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Joseph Addison Pundt, age 87 of N. Main Street Wadley who died Thursday evening July 25, 2024.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, July 29, at the Wadley Methodist Church with Mr. Jeff Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Wadley City Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Kyle Edenfield, Jacob Stickle, Caleb Edenfield, Eli Edenfield, Levi Edenfield, and Isaiah Edenfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Miller, Benji Leaptrott, Johnny York, Tommy Lamb, Johnny Staveley and Clark Rachels. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to services at the church.
Mr. Pundt was a son of the late Ernest & Elizabeth Addison Pundt. Joe was a graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, SC. After graduation he joined the U.S. Armed Forces and served in the 82nd Airborne division in Fort Brag, NC. He served as a paratrooper and assault infantry, an elite division. He retired from Thermo King after 30 years of service and was a member of Wadley Methodist Church for 42 years.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Ernest Pundt & Harold Pundt and is survived by beloved wife of 60 years Edith Williams Pundt of Wadley, daughter Sandi (Jeff) Jones of Wadley, granddaughters, Jessica (Kyle) Edenfield, and Katherine (Jacob) Stickle, great grandchildren, Caleb Edenfield, Eli Edenfield, Levi Edenfield, Isaiah Edenfield, Selah Grace Edenfield, Rebekah Stickle, Hannah Ruth Stickle, Adi Jane Stickle and Lily Stickle, several nieces, nephew and friends.
