Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mrs. Johnnie Mae Story Walden, age 97 of Bartow, who died Thursday, May 14, 2026.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 18, 2026, in the Old Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Thigpen officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Hobbs, Chase Walden, Troy Morris, Brian Walden, John Abshier, and Riley Allen. Burial will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Walden was born January 3, 1929, in Mitchell, GA., one of sixteen children of the late John Story and Frances Kent Story. She began working at J P Stevens when it opened and retired when closed as Forstman Inc. and was a long-time member of Old Bethel Baptist Church in Bartow. She loved to cook, sew, and crochet, but her greatest pastime was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie Walden Sr.; daughters, Karen Mouton and Debra Hobbs; son in-law, Chuck Mouton; as well as several brothers and sisters. She is survived by son Charlie Walden, Jr. (Pam); sisters, Frankie Johnson, Joyce Smith, Glender Padgett; grandsons, Tony Mouton, Danny Hobbs, (Melanie), Chase Walden; granddaughters, Jenny Abshier (John), Casey Morris (Troy), Meagan Clark, (LC), Brianna Walden, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the home of her son, Charlie & Pam Walden, 1514 D Ponder Road in Bartow.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday May 17, 2026 at the funeral home.
