Mr. John Lewis Willie, age 78, of Hoschton passed away August 18, 2021.

The family will receive friends and guests at Memorial Park South Funeral Home from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Friday, August 20th. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, August 21st at the Louisville City Cemetery in Louisville, GA. Mr. Tommy New will officiate.

Johnny, as he was known, was born on July 28, 1943, to the late DeWitt Talmadge & Hattie Mae Willie in Louisville, Georgia. Growing up in Jefferson County, Georgia, he was the youngest of five children, and was particularly close to his brother, Ennis. As a mischievous child, Johnny roamed the streets of Louisville, played football for Louisville High School, and enjoyed racing cars. He served in the US Navy before beginning his career with the railroad as an account executive. His military and professional career took him and his family on an adventurous path through Florida, Virginia, South Carolina, Texas, Kentucky, and Ohio, before retiring in his home state of Georgia. He began competitive shooting in the military, and became very active in IHMSA and IDPA shooting – a lifelong skill and activity he shared with his sons.

Mr. Willie is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Jennifer M. Willie of Hoschton & Keith and Jennifer S. Willie of Lawrenceville; granddaughter, Samantha R. Willie; sister-in-law, Gailya Frith Willie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Molly Jeanette Willie; parents; and siblings, William Willie, Ann Barfield, Eve Perdue, and Ennis Willie.
